Why is Cervical Traction/Decompression necessary?
The subluxated (abnormal) spinal position involves the adaptive changes of the ligaments, muscles, and in long standing cases, even the vertebral bones. It is necessary to apply a force over time to stretch the ligaments back to their normal position. Due to the fact that ligaments stretch rather slowly the traction force must be introduce gradually. Also, because it does take some time for your body to get used to the new healthy position, we must proceed so as to work within your tolerance.

How does Lumbar Traction Work
Lumbar Traction targets the lumbar muscles to reintroduce kinetic activity. The Traction Unit then comfortably applies traction to the spinal joint, decompressing the disk and reducing pain. Unlike conventional traction that stretches the back only, the Traction procedure aids in reconstitution and disc healing, allowing increased circulation to the damaged area.

The therapy is gentle, yet effective.

Each Lumbar Traction session is administered by a member of our clinical staff. The complete program requires 20-30 hours over a four to six week period. Our guests find the experience relaxing and painless.

What is the MCU?
The MCU (Multi Cervical Unit) is the most comprehensive cervical evaluation and rehabilitation system available in the world. It provides for the assessment of range of motion (flexion, extension, rotation, lateral flexion) with range limiters where applicable, isometric strength (570 different positions), and dynamic strengthening with weight ranges from one-quarter of a pound to 50 pounds.

Electrical Stimulation
EMS brings relief for many soft tissue conditions including Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and relaxing spasmodic muscles. EMS units stimulate muscle nerves and cause muscle fibers to contract so they can be used beneficially in acute injury situations because they prevent muscle atrophy and increase blood flow to the affected area. EMS is applied with mildly sticky pads to the area that is experiencing pain or spasms. A tingling sensation, which is not uncomfortable, can be felt when the EMS unit is on. Typically EMS is applied before you get your adjustment so that your muscles are in a relaxed state.
